Wide Feet rijgmethode toegepast op een schoen, ontworpen voor comfort bij brede voeten

Wide Feet - Threading Method 7

If you have wide feet, you know how important it is for your shoes to fit well without pressure points. The "Wide Feet" lacing method, perfect for shoes with 6 to 8 eyelets, is specially designed to relieve pressure on your feet and create extra space. Even if you don't have wide feet, this technique is useful to know, especially in combination with elastic laces, which always ensure an even distribution of pressure.

Step 1

Place the shoe in front of you with the toe towards you. Thread the lace from the outside in through the bottom eyelets on both sides. The ends of the lace will be on the inside of the shoe.

Step 1 of the Wide Feet lacing method, laces are threaded from the outside in through the bottom eyelets.

Step 2

Take both ends of the lace and thread them crosswise from the inside out through the next eyelet on the opposite side. This creates a cross pattern on the top of the shoe.

Step 2 of the Wide Feet lacing method, laces are laced crosswise from the inside out for a crisscross pattern.

Step 3

Repeat the cross lacing, but skip an eyelet on each side. This helps to create extra room and reduces pressure on the widest parts of your foot.

Step 3 of the Wide Feet lacing method, laces are again laced crosswise, skipping the eyelets to create extra space.

Step 4

Re-thread the laces in a criss-cross pattern, from the inside out, again skipping an eyelet on each side. This pattern will provide maximum pressure relief. Now you’re ready to attach the closures. Check out our elastic lace guide for more information.

Step 4 of the Wide Feet lacing method, laces are again laced crosswise, skipping the eyelets for maximum pressure relief.

Finishing for elastic laces

For elastic laces, use a twist cap to secure the ends. More information about the different types of lace closures can be found on our website.
